Kitchen in Kempston
Range - Burbidge Ravello Oak
This kitchen project was quite involved as building work was required to enable the kitchen design. The kitchen existing was quite a tight galley style layout with a tall dominating cupboard and a large breakfast bar separating the kitchen and the dining room. After lengthy discussions with the client and as there was additional access to outside, we decided to replace the back door with a window to accommodate the new sink position; this space then allowed for a sink unit, Washing Machine and a reduced depth larder unit on this new window elevation.
The full width of the kitchen was then able accommodate the dishwasher, Hob, two sets of large pan drawers and a tall corner larder unit. The client really wanted to maximise the space under the stairs and after some serious calculations and measuring, we manage to squeeze in a specially adapted double oven tower and Midi Integrated fridge tower. This also involved removing the cupboard under the stairs and rebuilding with a small door facing into the kitchen. We also had to arrange the relocation of the Gas meter from under the stairs to the front of the property externally. The kitchen entrance door was also moved 90 degrees. A small feature Central Island still allowed plenty of space around the kitchen.
This project was completed while the client went on holiday to South Africa for the three weeks so they were very excited on their return to see their new kitchen!
